Dřevěný kostel sv. Jana Křtitele (The wooden Church of St John the Baptist), Slavoňov
This unique all-wood stave church was built in 1533.
The
Slavoňov church is a very popular monument visited by tourists, not only
domestically, but also abroad. It is interesting to note that ever since its construction
in 1553 the church has not ceased to fulfil its original function. The Renaissance
bell tower, the top of which was not damaged, is original and therefore older
than the current church. The church is an important monument of the whole
region and is very popular not only among believers but also history lovers.
